Nice atmosphere, beautiful location, lovely traditional Austrian inferior, and pleasant piano music played live. Sadly the food was lacking in flavor factor we would have expected from this quality of restaurant. Nice for tourist who are looking for an Austrian meal with an English menu however.

One of the most famous cafes in Vienna, more than 100 years old.The building is beautiful. Loved the vibe in the cafe too, especially when they started playing the piano.Be prepared to queue if you do not have any reservations. The queue can be pretty long.Cakes were ok, not fantastic. Many choices though. Drinks were standard too. But the ambience of the cafe made up for that. Didn't order food so can't comment on that.Prices were reasonable for this type of cafes, also not as pricey as some of the other cafes in Vienna.A perfect place to chill with friends, with hot drinks and some desserts while enjoying the music.

Very nice place to stop for a coffee and a dessert. If you can, book in advance, the line could be very long.We had also lunch here but I have to say that the food was just ok we had baked chicken and pork with gnocchi, the salad dressing wasn’t really nice, I would recommend just to come for the sweets and of course the coffee.The service is friendly and a little slow, but the place is always busy so we understand it. For dessert we had an Apple Strudel with vanilla sauce and ice cream, it was really nice. We will come back for sure, the atmosphere is fantastic.

We visited without an appointment and waited in line for less than an hour.The restaurant was spacious, but there was a piano playing next to our seats, so we could not talk slowly.The piano performance itself was very good.The Cafe Central cakes, which I had been curious about, were especially delicious.The service was not too much, but fairly normal.

Had reservation for breakfast and the cafe was fairly empty on arrival at 830am on a weekday. Beautiful decor. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. You can choose the mouth watering cakes and pastries from the display. On my quest to sample as many sachertorte as possible in Vienna, the one here is pretty good except the cake was just a tad bit on the dry side.

Obviously great for historic reasons and for the setting. They had good gluten free pastries. Iced coffee was good quality I believe but I would say not to come here only for coffee, there are other great places in Vienna for that.

I don’t usually like to queue for a restaurant, but the queue was short when we walked pass. This turned out to be one of the best culinary experience of my trip. And the schnitzel was the best one I have had in this trip. Cafe Central is a grand Venetian Cafe. We got there early and were were no queues. We had two excellent hot chocolates and shared a very light hazelnut chocolate cakes between two.The cafe has a wonderful atmosphere and you could not fault the friendly and efficient service. The Cafe was luxurious and spacious.Best top is to either booking in advance or come early and have breakfast.

Wonderful traditional cafe in Vienna! While we did not have a reservation, we waited in line for about 30 minutes. It was worth the wait! Great service and tasty food. The coffee was amazing! Lovely building!

A must visit in Vienna! Located in the city center, the building and interior is very beautiful with the vintage vibe. Various dishes from traditional Viennese cuisine to pastries to choose from, and the staffs are all very friendly. I went there on a Tuesday morning 8:00 and was very empty, only after 9:00 people started to come in, but I still recommend to make a reservation beforehand.

Great place for dinner, although the waiting time is consistent. There is a queue outside most of the time. Many tourist are coming to have dinner at ‘Cafe Central’ for the beauty of the old building and its architecture. There also many who enters take pictures and leaving, which makes the queue unbearable. The atmosphere inside is average while the interior architecture is spectacular. Food is above average from quality perspective with prices from moderate to high.

A historical cafe open until today. They offer variety of cakes/bakery/food/drinks, but unfortunately during our visit, they didn’t offer the full menu. Cakes were okay but I’d not recommended apple pie. Hot chocolate is a must order here. It’s always crowded. So, I’d recommend going there during the opening time to get the first lot of table.

Touristy destination but still done tastefully. Queue moves very fast. The beef consume with shredded pancakes was very tasty. The dessert pancakes were good but a bit dry. Overall a nice experience.

We booked online and got through the queue without any issues - the queue before 9am is short however quickly increased while we were there. The service was great, and all the servers were lovely. Helping us with any questions related to the dietary requirements we have. The breakfast was great, and we also enjoyed a delicious vegan cake. It was the first thing we did in Vienna. One of the few cafes that starts early (and can be tried before any tour/place opens up). We went on Monday at 8:45 AM and got in without any wait time. We found the place quite good with really good interiors, service was warm and prompt, and the cake spread was amazing. Didn't find too many people just trying to click photos and videos.However, there were around 10 tables waiting when we came out.

If you have one, you can by pass the queue and go in the doors on the left side. It's also best to show your reservation to the Host. They will quickly seat you. Next, immediately take a look at the cakes and sweets in the case. Those are what you will have available to you and you should decide based on what you see. We came the Cafe Central two nights in a row and was disappointed that on the second night, one of the cakes we had just the night before was not available. We asked our waiter and he said that once they sell our for the day and the check the case for what's available. Third, as much as this place is popular for sweet stuff and coffee, try the savory food. We had the pork and it was amazing.

Last time was 2022 and we were amazed, ambient and food was so good.This week we returned with out daughters, told them before about the Wiener breakfast. Specially we were looking for the croissants, we kept them in mind as super crispy and tasteful.After making the queue we were sitting in a lovely spot.Waiting, waiting, waiting for our order…then it came!!! Croissants not to be compared with the former ones. In fact one of them came flat, this is not acceptable, the kitchen should have not allowed to go to customer. And the waiter shouldn’t have served it….but I guess everything is served and sold….sad!!On top, when asking for the bill, you are kindly asked to include the tip….everyone, this is nit the US, where tips are a considerable part of waiter’s income.Bottom line, too many tourists are making a beautiful place “must see place” into a massive touristic attraction, loosing the quality of service and food.We will not return, there are still other premium place first breakfast.

Nice Viennese Cafe. We ordered the fried chicken which was great. Also recommend Kaiserschmarrn - sweet shredded pancakes. Coffee was delicious and had a kick to it. Apple strudel is classic. They have a large selection of pastries to pick from.

Have Kaiserschmarn pancake. It is essentially sponge cake. Eur 12.5 per serving. The portion is big, fit for 3-4 people. Taste alright, nothing special really.Have also order sandwich from lunch menu. Which is okay.The cream on hot chocolate is nice, not sweet, just the right texture. The hot chocolate itself is however taste cheap. The same thing you can get from instant hot chocolate from supper market.
